The park is situated in the Satpura Range of hills in Madhya Pradesh and the main gate for entering the park is called the Madhai. The forest is known for its rocky landscapes with deep valleys and peaks which is well connected to the city of lakes called Bhopal. It is said to be the main hub to reach the park with convenience.
✈️ Reaching Satpura by Air
If you are on a plane trip, then getting here is very easy, and your travel time from your place of origin which is a long distance away is greatly reduced. Bhopal Airport is a domestic airport well connected by regular daily flights. Moreover, some regional carriers provide direct flights to the following cities: Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Chennai. From the Airport to Satpura:
Once you land in Bhopal then you can find several easy options to reach your resort or the park gate:
- Pre-booked Taxi/Cab: before you reach here you can opt to book a taxi online and this option is better as you do not have to wait and search for cabs. The driver would be waiting for you at the exit where you can straight away go to your room.
- Taxi from the Airport: if you haven't booked earlier you can still find the taxi services right outside the airport terminal and you can choose accordingly either to only drop off or stay for the whole trip with you.

Alternative Airports:
While Bhopal is the most convenient but another airport closest is the Jabalpur airport which is also an option. But the distance is around 210 km from the park which will take around 4 to 5 hours drive and might be hectic, so Bhopal is highly recommended for a more comfortable journey.

Nearest Railway Station:
The most convenient and nearest railway station is Pipariya Railway Station which is only about 47 kilometers from the Madhai gate of Satpura National Park. The drive from the station to the park takes roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Pipariya Junction is well-connected to many major cities. Some popular trains that come here are:

From the Station to Satpura:
When you get off at Pipariya station, you can easily find:

- Local Taxis and Auto-rickshaws: You can also find taxis and autos outside the station and it is advised to fix the fare before you start the journey.

Alternative Railway Station:
Bhopal Junction is a major railway hub with even better connectivity from all over India and it is about 140-160 km from Satpura. If you find a more suitable train to Bhopal then you can take it and then hire a taxi for the 3 to 4 hour drive to the park.
Important Tip: Trains to Pipariya especially during holiday seasons can get full very quickly. It is always a good idea to book your train tickets several weeks or even months in advance.
